SURYA WINS AMERICAN INHOUSE DESIGN AWARD FOR SPRING 2016 CATALOG 7.21.16
Surya has been honored with a 2016 American Inhouse Design Award for its spring 2016 catalog, marking the second consecutive year the Surya catalog has earned a design award. Last year, the brand received an American Graphic Design Award for its spring 2015 catalog.

the American Inhouse Design Awards program was established to showcase exceptional work by in-house design teams and to recognize them for creativity, the unique challenges they face and their contributions to their businesses. This year, more than 6,000 entries in 25 categories were considered, with only the top 15 percent receiving an award.
“Our bi-annual catalog is a significant undertaking, and our creative team always puts a great amount of initiative and planning into designing and producing a catalog that is visually engaging, informative and easy to navigate,” said Satya Tiwari, president, Surya

The 820-page catalog showcases Surya’s diverse offering of coordinating home accessories through artfully styled photography – including multiple room scenes and style shots – along with close-up images that highlight texture, construction and color. Four curated trend vignettes spotlight the most popular trends in fashion and home decor while demonstrating how easy it is to combine Surya accessories to build inspired spaces for a variety of lifestyles and budgets. Adding functionality to form, convenient features such as a Top Sellers Section, color-coded section tabs and a product index organized by category simplify product selection.

SURYA DEBUTS LIGHTING E-CATALOG 7.13.16
Surya has launched a new lighting e-catalog, which is now available on surya.com. The digital catalog was created to make it even easier for buyers and designers to shop Surya’s growing lighting collection, and will be updated regularly as new designs are added to the line.
The 48-page catalog opens with a specially curated selection of Surya’s newest lamp introductions followed by dedicated sections for table, task and floor lamps. Each product image is accompanied by detailed product information and includes a clickable link that takes the viewer to the corresponding product page on surya.com, where additional details and inventory status can be accessed.
“As we continue to expand our lighting offering, we wanted to give our customers an efficient and visually engaging way to browse our broad assortment of lamps,” said John Haste, senior vice president of business development, Surya. “The ability to click on a lamp and then automatically be directed to that product on the Surya website creates a truly seamless shopping experience. Buyers and designers are able to quickly locate the lamps they’re looking for and place an order without going through multiple steps. It’s all about making our customers’ lives as easy as possible.”
Artfully appointed lifestyle photography provides design inspiration and helps the viewer to visualize the lamps in different living environments. Features include a ‘Page Overview’ function for easy navigation to the desired section within the catalog and the ability to download a PDF version of the catalog for quick reference.

Summer market attendees are invited to see Surya’s lighting collection in person in Atlanta (AmericasMart 11-A-1) or Las Vegas (WMC C400) from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. A complimentary hot catered breakfast and lunch will be served each day, along with hors d’oeuvres and cocktails each afternoon beginning at 4 p.m.
SURYA KICKS OFF THIRD ANNUAL SURYA SPACES CONTEST 7.05.16
Surya is launching this week the third installment of its popular Surya Spaces contest. With a tagline of ‘Inspiring Spaces Designed by You,” the photo challenge invites interior designers to submit high resolution lifestyle images of their design projects using Surya accessories for the chance to win up to $1,000 toward Surya products.
The contest, which runs through August 15, was created to showcase the design talent of Surya customers and spotlight the almost limitless ways that the brand’s accessories – including accent furniture, art, bedding, decorative accents, lighting, mirrors, pillows, rugs and throws – can be used to create effortlessly coordinated spaces. Last year’s contest generated more than 150 entries from across the country.
“Accessories truly have the power to transform a space,” said Satya Tiwari, president, Surya. “Every day, we see the amazing artistry of the designers who use our rugs and accessories to create spaces that are not only functional but also beautiful. We had such a great response to our Surya Spaces contest last year, and we are excited to once again share our design customers’ projects with a larger audience. Our strong social media presence is the perfect platform for highlighting their creative vision, and we look forward to seeing this year’s entries.”

on Surya’s Facebook page, and the entry earning the most ‘likes’ each week will be promoted across all of Surya’s social media channels, which have a combined total of more than 158,000 followers.
An in-house panel of judges will evaluate the entries based on creativity, design aesthetic and successful integration of Surya accessories. The first prize winner will receive a $1,000 product voucher toward their next Surya order, with the second and third place winners receiving a $750 and $500 product voucher, respectively.

. Each photo qualifies as a single entry, and up to three entries per designer are allowed. The contest closes at midnight ET on Monday, August 15, 2016, and winners will be announced on Surya’s Facebook page during the last week of August.
