Surya has received a Best Of Houzz 2016 award in the Design category, marking the third year in a row that the home accessories brand has earned this prestigious distinction.

Each year Houzz, the leading platform for home renovation and design, honors companies and individuals in three categories – Design, Customer Service and Photography. Surya was recognized with the Best of Houzz for Design designation because images in its Surya Spaces project, featuring design projects incorporating Surya accessories, were among the most popular images clicked on and saved in 2015 by the Houzz community of more than 35 million monthly users.

Surya features designer projects on all social media channels using the #suryaspaces hashtag. Designers are invited to post their latest projects on Surya’s social media pages, which reach more than 150,000 home decor professionals and enthusiasts.

Surya’s Spring Bloom rug (SBO-6000) was among the winning rug designs recognized at the 2016 America’s Magnificent Carpet Awards gala, held on Friday, Jan. 15 in Atlanta. The rug, which took top honors in the licensee category, features an overscaled floral design and was created in partnership with Belgian lifestyle brand Papilio.

Held each year during the Atlanta International Area Rug Market, America’s Magnificent Carpet Awards honor the year’s best new designs and constructions from the nation’s leading rug manufacturers. Prior to the awards ceremony, market attendees were invited to view all of the entries, which were showcased in the Museum of Introductions Gallery located in AmericasMart Building 1.

Hand knotted of felted wool with a low pile, the Spring Bloom rug is constructed using oversized knots to create an embroidered look with rich texture and dimensionality that also offers softness underfoot. The welcoming color palette includes Rose Quartz, one of Pantone’s Colors of the Year for 2016, along with shades of gold, aubergine and olive – all set against a light gray ground.

Market attendees are invited to view the Spring Bloom rug, along with all of Surya’s latest product introductions, at Las Vegas Market (WMC C-400) from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. Surya will serve a complimentary hot catered breakfast and lunch each day, along with hors d’oeuvres and cocktails each evening.


In response to the significant growth of its lighting category, Surya has expanded the size of its Atlanta showroom by 3,000 square feet. The additional space, which is an extension of the brand’s existing showroom in 11-A-1, will be transformed into a dedicated lighting gallery that will showcase Surya’s broad range of lighting options, including a number of new designs set to make their debut at market.

“We have seen tremendous momentum in our lighting sales during the past two years and wanted to bring the lighting category to our customers in a more meaningful and inspired way,” said Satya Tiwari, president, Surya. “The new lighting gallery will enable designers and retailers to experience the full range of our lighting options in a beautifully appointed setting that will make it easy to locate the right products for their specific needs.”

The expansion brings Surya’s Atlanta showroom space to more than 18,000 square feet. An official ribbon cutting ceremony will be held on Thursday, Jan. 14 at 9 a.m.  

Market attendees are invited to explore Surya’s extensive lighting offering, along with the brand’s latest product introductions, at AmericasMart 11-A-1 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
