The new products will be showcased in themed vignettes throughout the Surya showroom, providing creative merchandising ideas that can be easily applied within retail spaces.

Among the introductions are a series of collections featuring novel constructions and techniques, including:

CALHOUN, Ga. — Jan. 21, 2014 — Surya, a progressive manufacturer of area rugs and home accessories, will introduce several exciting collections from maverick designer Mike Farrell at the Las Vegas Market. Known for a quirky, out-of-the-box design sensibility, Farrell translates everyday items such as bicycles, lines, letters and numbers into interesting and eye-catching constructions that artfully showcase his witty and playful style. About Mike Farrell
A designer of home furnishings, contract hospitality items and fashion accessories, Mike Farrell opened his first showroom in NYC with a line of high end umbrellas featuring sophisticated patterns. Farrell’s distinct, playfully irreverent point of view is marked by his sense of spontaneity and humor. At a young age, he was captivated by Argentina's Bohemian style and engaging culture during a visit to the country – an inspiration that continues today to drive his young, fresh and edgy designs. Drawing from his extensive travels, nomadic lifestyle and infatuation with the often chaotic but vibrant world around him, Farrell is a natural storyteller who creates designs and spaces that ignite conversation, a sense of discovery and, whenever possible, laughter.

CALHOUN, Ga. — Jan. 17, 2014 — Rug and home accessories brand Surya is pleased to announce the debut of an innovative pillow display rack designed to give retailers and designers a space-conscious and visually engaging way to showcase their Surya pillow offerings. The first display system of its kind, the Surya Pillow Tower holds up to 20 down- or poly-filled pillows, significantly increasing the number and variety of pillows that can be displayed within a retail space.

Further strengthening the brand’s successful merchandising tool offerings – including the Complements Vignette Display introduced last year – the small footprint Pillow Tower display can be coordinated with individual vignettes to help drive overall accessories sales. Consumers are able to “try out” different looks at the point of purchase – increasing the likelihood of an incremental sale and a return visit to the store when future accessories needs arise.

The sleek design features a hidden shelving system that allows for easy stacking and convenient access to each pillow while preventing slippage. A lightweight, sturdy metal frame construction ensures portability for easy movement around the store.

“Today’s consumers not only expect to be able to select furniture and coordinating home accessories from a single location but also are looking for creative and inspired ways to build rooms that reflect their unique style,” said Satya Tiwari, president, Surya. “Our new Pillow Tower not only facilitates the design conversation between sales associates and customers, but also helps retailers to differentiate their business from the competition, helping to elevate accessories sales and increase customer satisfaction.”

One of the first rug companies to introduce pillows, Surya currently offers more than 1,000 on-trend indoor and outdoor pillow options designed to coordinate with the brand’s rugs and other home accessories.

To celebrate the launch of its latest merchandising tool, Surya is giving away a free Pillow Tower with qualifying pillow orders. Las Vegas Market attendees are invited to get a first look at the innovative display in the Surya showroom – LVM C400 – which will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

CALHOUN, Ga. — Jan. 8, 2014 — Surya, a progressive manufacturer of area rugs and home accessories, is debuting at Atlanta Market an exclusive new line of rugs based upon the designs of artist, philosopher and environmentalist William Morris. Recognized as one of the most outstanding and influential designers of the Arts & Crafts Movement, Morris is best known for his patterns on fabrics and wallpapers. He drew his design inspiration from handicraft and traditional techniques from the Middle Ages, with a focus on incorporating into his works the natural forms found in an increasingly industrialized world.

His legacy continues today through the collaboration between Morris & Co. and Surya to produce the Morris Collection, which artfully translates authentic versions of Morris’s original designs alongside new interpretations into a collection of rugs with timeless appeal. Constructed in India of 100% wool, this inspirational range of handcrafted rugs is offered in a distinctive color palette that complements the fabrics and wallpapers in the Morris & Co. collections, as well as Surya’s home accessories offerings across multiple categories.

“Renowned for his iconic and decorative designs, William Morris emphasized craftsmanship and attention to every detail,” said Evert Kroon, brand manager, William Morris Rugs. “Both Surya and Morris & Co. represent innovation and luxury synonymous with the highest quality and enduring appeal. We are pleased to partner with Surya to bring to life Morris’s signature designs in beautiful and elegant rugs.”

Through Surya’s partnership with Morris & Co., Morris’s designs will be accessible to an even wider range of consumers, something to which Morris always aspired. “William Morris was a true force of nature who believed in the power of design to change the world,” said Satya Tiwari, president, Surya. “While looking to the past for inspiration, he created a visionary, forward-thinking approach to design, as well as the way we view the world – both of which remain highly relevant today. We are excited to have the opportunity to share Morris’s refined and inspired designs with our designer and retailer customers.”

The Morris Collection will make its debut during the Atlanta Winter Market, taking place from Jan. 7 – 14. Market attendees are invited to explore the enduringly classic designs at Surya’s flagship showroom at AmericasMart 11-A-1, which will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
